DIRTY WORKS
Selected cover artwork and editorial illustration for Dirty Works, an independent Spanish publisher built around a shared love of outsiders, misfits, damaged characters and American underground literature.
More than a conventional publishing house, Dirty Works has grown into a kind of extended family — a loose brotherhood of writers, readers, translators and artists orbiting the same cultural territory. Across years of collaboration, the covers have accompanied authors such as Bonnie Jo Campbell, Larry Brown, Harry Crews, Barry Gifford and William S. Burroughs Jr., among many others.
That territory reaches beyond literature into a broader American mythology: dive bars and back roads, Southern Gothic, country music, pulp culture and working-class lives, with figures such as Dolly Parton or Waylon Jennings acting almost as distant beacons within the same landscape.
BARRY GIFFORD’S SAILOR & LULA SAGA
Recent work includes the complete eight-volume Spanish edition of Barry Gifford’s Sailor & Lula saga, culminating in 2026 with La senda del jaguar (The Up-Down), published in Spanish for the first time.
