Gram Parsons
—
cosmic Portrait
Illustration work for Caballos Salvajes. Gram Parsons (1968–1973), the oral biography of Gram Parsons written by Jordi Pujol Nadal and published by 66 RPM Edicions in 2024.
The project included the cover artwork and a series of narrative illustrations depicting episodes, places and characters connected to Parsons’ life and mythology. While the interior illustrations were originally published in black and white, the series was later revisited and developed independently in colour.
From the Book to the Color Series
Published by 66 RPM Edicions in 2024, Caballos Salvajes traces Parsons’ most creative years through the voices of musicians, friends and people from his circle.
The illustrations move through key episodes and locations from Parsons’ story, accompanying the book’s oral narrative with a parallel visual journey through country rock, counterculture and the mythology that grew around him.
Originally created for reproduction in black and white, the illustrations were later revisited as a standalone colour series, expanding the visual language of the book beyond the printed edition.
